Last 19th of March, the joint GV04 Dissemination Event took place in Brussels. The workshop presented the innovations that are currently being developed by three EU-funded projects under the European Green Vehicles Initiative (EGVI): ModulED, ReFreeDrive and DRIVEMODE.
These three projects are expected to achieve an incremental reduction in total motor and power electronics system costs trough optimised design for manufacture, increasing the performance of both electric motors and power electronics.
Regarding ReFreeDrive project, several motor technologies have been analyzed: induction motor, permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motor and pure synchronous reluctance motor. All these technologies have been studied and optimized taking into account electrical, mechanical and thermal considerations.
From ReFreeDrive project we are greatly pleased with the event’s impact! More than 100 people showed interest in the event and around 75 of them attended the workshop, many of them belonging to leading edge organizations in the field of electric drivetrain design and innovation.
We are looking forward to attending future joint events. We’ll keep you informed about them. Meanwhile, you can check an overview of the projects’ progresses and download the presentations made by following the next link: http://www.leonardo-energy.org/resources/1582
